888 Mac Client Exits Beta Testing
Mac poker players can rejoice at having another site to play on that is compatible with the OS X operating system. Last week,
888 Poker released its Mac client after a full month of beta testing.
The
Mac poker client has all of the same features as the PC client in addition to the quality graphics a Mac can provide. Tournaments, sit and gos, and ring games are all available along with different types of poker including Hold'em, Stud, and Omaha. The OS X client also has many of the features players love at 888 Poker, including webcam tables, preferred seating, and waiting lists, just to name a few.
There have been some minor complaints about the font size and the ability to only play up to six tables at once. The table limit, however, is the same on the PC client and hopefully something 888 Poker will address in the future.
Poker players on the OS X operating system should be excited, as a few years ago, there were hardly any poker sites or software available for the Mac operating system unless utilizing Windows via a program such as Boot Camp. Having another major site like 888 Poker release a full Mac client makes it far less likely that Mac players will need to run a Windows operating system.
OS X players who are already playing on other sites can now add 888 Poker to their arsenal. It is one of the most trusted brand names in the industry and a great option for any type of poker player. This is also great news for PokerSoftware viewers who are already using the Mac versions of various programs.
888 releasing a new Mac client is the second major update it has had in the last few weeks. Recently, the site began alpha testing Snap, a fast-fold poker game. Snap is not a new a concept, but is a great addition to what 888 already has. The game works by entering a player pool at a certain limit and when you have folded or otherwise ended your hand, you are brought to a new table with different players in the same pool. Many players love this fast-paced game since you are never stuck at a bad table and many more hands per hour are played, increasing efficiency per table.
If you are a Mac user and haven't checked out 888 Poker, I would recommend doing so today. The action is a bit fishier than other sites and 888 offers a generous welcome bonus of 100% up to $400 and a ticket for a $50,000 guaranteed tournament.
